Adegbola Art Projects is delighted to present Heroes Past: Contemporary Interpretations, a collection of works seeking to honour and celebrate the revered individuals who played vital roles in Nigeria’s independence movement — the key figures whose courage, conviction, and vision helped shape the nation we call home.
Through the distinct voices and perspectives of our participating artists – Haneefah Adam, Kolawole John Adewale, Jonathan Chambalin, Emmanuel Chidibe, Folashade Fagorusi, Christiana Oluwatoyin Obafemi, Femi Okediji, and Olasunkanmi Oyelusi – this exhibition tells their stories, translating the spirit and labours of our founding fathers into new visual languages. Each piece is a dialogue between the past and present, reminding us that their struggles, ideals, and aspirations remain woven into the fabric of our collective identity.

Truly, the labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain. They live on; in their plight, their influence, and in all that they fought for.
