This exhibition presents selected archival materials and a painting by Demas Nwoko, offering a focused view into a multidisciplinary practice that spanned visual art, theatre, architecture, design, and civic life. Rather than a comprehensive survey, the presentation draws from retained working material: drawings, photographs, furniture, manuscripts, and printed matter that reflect Demas’ way of thinking through making.

Ideas in Demas Nwoko’s practice moved fluidly across disciplines, with forms and concepts migrating between theatre, architecture, and visual art. Anchored by Madam Butterfly, the exhibition oscillates between image and document, resolved form and working trace. Together, these materials situate Demas Nwoko as a thinker-maker whose practice is grounded in a holistic understanding of culture.
